Yes, Vijay’s Velayutham will release along with Suriya’s 7aum Arivu on October 26, making it an interesting Diwali fight.
A leading distributor confirmed: “ On Sunday (Oct 9) Velayutham ads with theatre listing announcing it as a Diwali release will be published in newspapers. Already 7aum Arivu ads have appeared announcing it as a Diwali release with complete theatre listing.”
The other two films scheduled for Diwali- Dhanush’s Selvaraghavan directedMayakkam Enna and STR’s Dharani directed Osthi have informed the trade that they are postponing their release to November.
Meanwhile to make it a triangular fight, Shah Rukh Khan’s RA.One is releasing for Diwali in Hindi and Tamil. The highlight of the film will be a one-minute cameo appearance of superstar Rajinikanth in the film.
SRK himself is flying down to Chennai on Monday (Oct 10) for the audio launch of the Tamil version.
