‎3 Idiots Update !

Director Shankar finally sighed in relief after the grand release of Endhiran which was in production for close to three years. Shankar, who is known for his grandeur, is going to direct a remake for the first time in his 20-year career. His next movie is tentatively titled '3 Rascals' and here are a few tidbits of the movie.

This will be the first time Shankar will be using a script of another writer in his direction. He had earlier remade his own movie Mudhalvan in Hindi titled 'Nayak'.

3 Rascals is a remake of Hindi blockbuster 3 Idiots which broke all box office records last year. 3 Idiots had Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles.

While Vijay will play Aamir's character in Tamil, actors Jiva and Siddharth are expected to be cast in the other two roles.

Telugu actress Ileana will be the female lead which was enacted by Kareena Kapoor. Ileana's only appearance in Tamil was in Kedi in the year 2006.

The music of 3 Rascals will be taken care of by Harris Jayaraj. This will be only the second time Harris and Shankar will work together. Their previous association was in Anniyan in 2005 while music for all of Shankar's other movies have been composed by AR Rahman.

The cinematographer of this movie will be Manoj Paramahamsa who shot into fame with his work in Vinnauthaandi Varuvaayaa. Incidentally, Manoj earlier worked in Eeram which was produced by Shankar.
