When the Kavalan team was shooting in Kerala, they happened to visit the palace where Manichithirathal (Chandramukhi original) was shot.Immediately, the director of Kavalan, Siddique, decided to can a shot in the palace for the sake of sentiment. Manichithirathal turned out to be a blockbuster and the film was remade in Tamil and Kannada. The Tamil version, Chandramukhi had Rajinikath playing the lead and it went on to become a super duper hit.The scene was shot by cinematographer N. K. Ekambaram on the film’ s lead pair Vijay and Asin and is said to have come out well. Kavalan is expected to be released on December 24th, 2010.
